Andrew learned a great deal attending the part time kindergarten program. It was a wonderful opportunity to have some of the critical reading, writing, and math skills reinforced. In addition, it exposed him to many topics that are not covered during the 1/2 public school kindergarten. One of the most beneficial aspects was that it offered a check-and-balance to public school. It gave us an opportunity to understand which areas were truly his weakness versus areas in which an alternate teaching approach, including reduced class size, made the critical difference.

"We love how flexible PCA is with our schedule. Their doors are always open to us when we need them. Our daughter loves the activities and lessons prepared for her Pre-K class. She often comes home excited to tell us about her day and something new she tried at school - like cutting paper with scissors! Our youngest is in the infant room and we trust he is being nurtured while we are at work. He is very happy when Mrs. Abby takes him into her arms in the morning and comes home just as happy. Thank you PCA!"

Our son Trent looks forward to going to PCA each week and cannot get out of the car and to his classroom fast enough. As an only child, I was concerned about him going through his toddler years without consistent interaction with other children. PCA has provided a safe and nurturing environment to learn how to interact with other children in a healthy way. Not only that, but Trent has learned, through the kindness and patience of his teacher Miss Jenny, how to transition smoothly from one activity to the next. Their instruction was evident when we had to wait in line and trent said, "Mommy, we have to be patient and wait in line. It is not our turn yet." This is definitely a concept that he learned at PCA! The work they do to create a fun, clean, consistent, and warm environment for my son allows me to keep my mind at ease as I work to serve our community and provide for my family through my own profession. I am so grateful for Purceville Childrens Academy and how hard they work for us.

I have so many positive things about the Kindergarten Program at PCA. Both of my children took part in this program and both have had very good experiences.
My son attended the AM Kindergarten Session at Loudoun County Public Schools, then took a bus over to PCA and joined the kindergarten program there. This was beneficial for him because he essentially had double the kindergarten experience of most kindergarteners in Loudoun County. For me and my husband, it filled in the gaps to allow us both to continue working full time. Several children did this in the area. The transition was perfect because when the kids walked into PCA, they were allowed to immediately join the classroom and have lunch with all their friends.
The Kindergarten teacher at PCA is fantastic. She follows the Loudoun County SOL guidelines. Report cards and conferences are given each quarter to discuss your child’s progress. She has an amazing disposition with the kids and has tremendous patience. The children respond to her like nothing I’ve ever seen. She also was able to separate them into various groups to teach the students at the pace they needed. This allowed the children to learn at their own pace.
There were several children in the Preschool Program who did not make the Loudoun County cutoff to start kindergarten in the Loudoun County Schools, but PCA allowed them to join the Full Day Kindergarten Program they offer. The children excelled and were reading at a first grade level and higher by the end of the year. Many of the kids went on to first grade, even though by birth dates they should have started in Kindergarten. It just shows how wonderful the program and the teachers are at PCA.
PCA offers a wonderful environment for the kids to learn and to make new friends. When the kids go off to public school, many of their friends from PCA are there as well, so it’s a perfect social stepping stone as well. PCA has been a wonderful influence on my family and my children’s life. I would recommend PCA to anyone.

My daughter transferred to PCA from another daycare. I was very concerned that she wouldn't adapt well to the new environment, but PCA staff made the transition so easy. My daugther loves her teachers and talks about them and her classmates constantly at home. She asks to go to school each morning and is sad to leave. As a mom, it is so comforting to drop your children off and know they are happy and safe. PCA was one of the best decisions we have made for our children.

It has been amazing to see how much our son had learned in the past 3 months he has been in the EL1 class. Singing, dancing, sign language... What a wonderful begining! Thank you Stacey, Melissa and Rosemary.

My daughter missed the cut off for kindergarten by two days. I am so glad we found the kindergarten program at PCA. Zoe has flourished under Miss Emily's instruction. Her lessons are engaging and address multiple learning styles. I can't say enough about the program and staff.

When we came in for a tour, we were welcomed I knew this was the place I would be able to take my babies to while I have to work.(I was a stay at home mom for almost 3 years) so This was very hard for me to leave my babies, I still remember my first day I dropped off my four year old first, He ran in excited to meet new friends, then I took my 2 year old into her class, I was worried about her she was never away from my side, The way they transitioned her was perfect, Its like Stacey knew just what my babies needed and worked to make sure her staff worked towards their needs. Then the hardest of all my 6mo old daughter. I was so scared to leave her, I am a breastfeeding mother and I kept asking questions to see if the staff would know what to do with the frozen milk, and if they didn’t know the answers they were quick to find the answers and eager to learn. That first day was super stressful tears running down my face, the staff opened their hearts and arms to my family who they didn’t even know. *another mom dropping her baby off said "oh I remember that feeling, It gets easier." handing my baby over kissing her forehead and walking past the director Kelligh made me feel normal by telling me how she sobbed that same day about putting her daughter on the bus, everyone reassured me and Each time I called, over and over to check on my beautiful babies, I never felt I was a burden. Then day after day We never lost the importance, our family was given, My son's teacher Ms Lavera has been a delight My son Loves her and looks forward to seeing her, she is always coming up with neat experiments, when we walk in the class no matter what she has going on she always said hello and gave me a update, she came up with a plan for potty training and now my son is on the way! My 2 year old daughter had the hardest time transitioning and would scream and cry when I would walk out the door. The teachers would work hard using distraction and even the owner Stacey would assure me she would check on her and she really did. And in the infant room AS MUCH AS A PAIN that I was in the beginning the teachers in there understood, I was a picky mom and wanted my little one taken care of just the way I would. And I never heard a complaint. Well Due to finances my sweet babies had their last day at pca and I cried harder and longer then the very first day when I dropped them off. Pca became our extended family
When we walk in the door it’s like coming home, I love all the staff at PCA My Babies don't understand they won’t be back. The teachers went around saying bye to them and giving hugs My 4 year old and 2 year old talk about their teachers all the time, Oh and with all the hard work *THEY ARE BOTH ALMOST FULLY POTTY TRAINED* I don't know what were going to do with out our daily dose of PCA
WE LOVE PCA

I love the different themes you have for each month. I'm a new mom and I'm so excited to get Eve involved in P.J. day, etc. I love that you include the little ones! I also like the way Emily writes out every accomplishment. I save them in her "art" folder. Emily also has great art projects that hang in frames around the house. Eve LOVES coming to daycare everyday. I've seen her blossom since she started in the toddler room. Thank you for giving us the peace of mind while we leave our darling Eve with you!!

Joe's only been coming for a couple of weeks, but we are already impressed with how welcomed he feels. Levera has been wonderful with him and we appreciate the time she takes to let us know how Joe is doing. We look forward to many years of him coming to you all.

We are also very impressed with the staff at PCA! Our daughter has been there a year and thrives with the program. The new ownership works very hard to implement improvements and are open to suggestions. They have accomodated our daughters food preferences and I would highly recommend the Academy to any new parent!

We are very pleased with PCA! The new owners have put forth many improvements and we are looking forward to seeing what is in the future. Our 1 year old daughter has been enrolled since she was 3 mos old and continues to thrive. Our 8 year old son enjoys the after school program. The kindness and compassion I see from the staff and owners is incomparable.

As a parent of two children at PCA, I can honestly say that I have grown to really care for the staff and have watched my children thrive. Everyone in the Academy has adopted my little girl, and I have to pry her out of their arms everyday! My oldest has had her share of listening and behavior challenges, and the staff and new owner have really gone out of their way to help me try new things and collaborate on ways to improve it. I am very excited to be signing my daughter up for Kindergarten in the fall, and am a true PCA fan. The new owners are really committed to continual improvement in all areas of the Academy, and I have seen the changes first hand. Looking forward to an even better place for my children to thrive. Sincerely, Natalie Lambert (mom to Olivia, 4 and Alaina 1)
